NOTE: All photographs were taken while on seconding assignment for Ivory + Gold Photography. Thanks, Juliette!! Read More
A little while ago, while it was freezing cold in December, I had the chance to document Vietnamese wedding with my friends Juliette. There was a lot of food and a lot of laughter and a lot of fantastic moments. For me, the best moment was capturing the groom Alex showing off the ring he put on his bride’s finger earlier that day just as they were making their entrance into the reception. Epic.
Welid and Savannah's wedding was one of the first backyard weddings I had photographed. While I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and the revelry of larger weddings, I also love the intimacy that comes with small weddings as well. It was a bright sunny day and lended itself to a great day followed by a reception in a hall in the evening. Read More
I really don't have any words for this wedding so I will let the photographs tell the story. Read More
Rain or snow definitely don't step a wedding day. This wedding from 2016 took place at first in Vancouver and then later on in Grouse Mountain.
What a day it was! Blistering snow made for an interesting and adventurous day but it ended up being an amazing wedding for Brian and Alaina.
Thanks to John Bello as we always for taking me on a second shooter! Read More
I really enjoy photographing at Brix and Mortar and around the Yaletown area. So when John Bello called me up to be his second shooter, I was very much inclined to join the party.
Regardless of whether I'm a primary photographer or second photographer, I always go into a wedding with the same determination to create true and authentic moments and beautiful photographs that the couple will remember.
Thanks again to John Bello for giving me the opportunity to second shoot! Read More
Yes, their actual names are not Zee, Eee or Cee but this is a special for a good friend :) Read More
I've known Zee and Eee for a while and they've been great friends. When they asked me to take photos of their brand new baby Cee and they wanted it in a documentary approach, I was more than delighted to spend some time with them and take their photos. The day I arrived, Cee was about 2 weeks old so he was pretty new to the world at that time.
I remember driving up to this farm in Maple Ridge and seeing sheep. Being a "city-slicker" this excited me greatly. I don't see sheep very often. Maybe a cat?
There's not much I can really say in words about this wedding that my photos won't mention but perhaps I can give you a brief outline: I met Kevin and his groomsmen and photographed them getting ready in a little house on this farm in Maple Ridge. Jody Nay and I photographed the first look of Kevin seeing Lindsay as his bride-to-be and it was an amazing moment followed by champagne and walking out into the farm field. Read More
As a documentary wedding photographer, I approach a wedding with the mindset of a photojournalist and am on the lookout for amazing “candid” moments to build a story of an entire wedding day, giving brides and grooms and authentic retelling of their day. However, as I soon learned, we as wedding photographers usually have to wear many hats on a wedding day! Read More
So I found out pretty quickly that my little Honda Fit car is able to fit a bride and two bridesmaids... and with room to spare. You see, the bride was about a 15-20 minute walk away from her venue but the day was hot and I didn't want the bride Dayna to sweat like crazy just before her ceremony at Brix! (We were at David Lam Park and it was warm that day). That's when it dawned on me: "Why don't *I* drive the bride up? I'm parking there anyway!" So there I was, with a client clad in her bridal gown and with her bridesmaids were in my car as we scooted up a few blocks in my little Honda Fit to Brix & Mortar. I've photographed in a lot of weddings and this was definitely an amazing first.
…It is photography that has allowed me to get assignments such as these. Natasha Priya asked me to second shoot for her at Andrew and Alyssa's wedding and I was very happy to take it on. It was a day filled with laughter, emotion, some real cheesy puns and some Tim Hortons... oh and the limo broke down! In the end, though, the day went smoothly, Andrew and Alyssa tied the knot and I gained a couple more friends than I had before. Read More
