"Jon was our photographer for our Chinese wedding banquet. I loved his portfolio and wanted a candid look at our fairly unstructured night of eating. He also included a printed photo book as part of his package - it's so nice to have a physical object to flip through to bring back all our memories. He was very accommodating with our (read: my parents') special requests and gave us suggestions as to how best capture the evening. He's very personable and friendly, and easily won over all my aunties and uncles. I loved working with him and I loved the end results. He was quick with delivering our photos too - I think he only took a month to give us our shots!"

“Jonathan's photography is technically excellent and artistically inspired. He is a pleasure to interact with. Photography was a top priority for us and we shopped way way ahead. We had our pick of the best of Vancouver and met with several of the best-known, award-winningest wedding photographers in the city. In the end, Jonathan came out as our first choice.
To our surprise, our engagement shoot ended up being one of the funner dates of our relationship so far, thanks to Jonathan's creativity and cheerful nature. Prior to the wedding day, he communicated effectively and reliably to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, and his hard-won experience and expertise put us at ease.
When it comes to wedding photos, couples want LOTS of photos, and that is what we got, but more importantly, every shot was beautifully done. He unobtrusively captured a lot of great , intimate, documentary-moments as well as take the obligatory posed photo shots with friends and family (still beautiful though!). Another plus, he did some wedding photographer-style magic with his ladder and various angles to capture all of our wedding guests in a super-tight venue space.
Turnaround for final products was within the promised time, and the pictures knocked our friends's socks off. I couldn't recommend him more highly.”

"We recently used Jonathan to shoot photos of our cat (and us at times) and the experience was absolutely wonderful. Our cat is quite shy and I was worried that she'd literally hide for the entire session. Instead, the exact opposite happened. Jonathan has such a warm, calm energy that our little beast was following him around the condo making sure to get photos in all her favourite spots.
Jonathan himself was extremely friendly and very easy to talk to. He uses a documentary-style of photography which leads to photos that capture the genuine emotion of the moment (as opposed to posed shots). He was respectful towards both us and our home and just a pleasure to be around. Most importantly, the photos he took turned out to be absolutely wonderful. I've already recommended Jonathan to my friends and will continue to do so.

Ross and Lynn - Wedding Reception Dinner - Vancouver
"We had eloped to the Sunshine Coast, BC but had a small reception dinner back in Vancouver and wanted a second photo shoot in Gastown and of our guests at the dinner so we commissioned Jonathan Desmond Photography to document this part of our celebration.
We met Jonathan to view his previous work and was impressed by his ability to capture the candid moments and the rich colours of his photography. This influenced our decision to commission him for our wedding function. With his ability to really hear the aesthetic we were going for, we were able to have a set of photos that were fun, creative and that instantly conjure the precious memories of our special occasion whenever we look at them now. We were absolutely confident in his choices and were left to enjoy the experience of the event."
